The Texas FFA has two unique internship opportunities available to junior or senior college level students interested in agricultural education or agricultural communications. As an intern, you will be supporting the multi-faceted summer activities of the Texas FFA Association. Texas FFA is the nation’s largest state FFA association and operates the nation’s largest state FFA convention. Texas FFA Foundation Intern Opportunity
2023 Texas FFA Foundation Internship Program
The Texas FFA Foundation affords a unique internship opportunity for college students interested in serving prior to, and following the annual Texas FFA Convention. The internship provides students the chance to work with a local Host Committee, Texas FFA sponsors, board of directors, and staff.
Description
This paid internship will focus on planning and development activities associated with the annual convention. Duties may include but are not limited to: working in the office of the host committee chairperson, coordinating supply needs i.e., contest judges, meals, activities, and hospitality associated with the convention and convention VIPs and guests. There may also be opportunities for special projects if interested.
Students interested in agricultural science education, communications, marketing, promotions, and other relevant majors are encouraged to apply. The student will be asked to work on-site or in a hybrid (virtual and onsite) work environment. The intern must be self-motivated and driven to accomplish tasks assigned. The intern must be punctual and demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills. Attention to detail is a must. The internship will require flexibility, personal initiative, customer service skills, and professionalism.
The Texas FFA Foundation internship program is a two-year commitment that has proven to be a successful model. Interns will serve as a “junior” intern in their first year and then as “senior” intern – leading the program – in their second year.
While not a prerequisite, students who have served as a State FFA Officer or Foundation Ambassador should note that experience when making application as it relates to the duties of this internship.

USDA Natural Resources Conservation Internship
The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is currently seeking applicants for collegiate student internships across Texas. Student trainee positions include soil conservationists, soil scientist, rangeland management specialists and engineers. This can be dual credit high school students also.
The USDA NRCS works in close partnership with farmers, ranchers, forest managers, non-governmental organizations, local and state governments, and other federal agencies to create and maintain healthy and productive working landscapes. These Pathway positions are normally for two consecutive summers before graduation allowing students to work in the field and the office under the mentorship of USDA NRCS staff. The hours acquired can lead to being hired full time with the agency upon graduation.
NRCS employees help stewards of agricultural lands and non-industrial private forest lands plan and implement proven conservation systems through technical and financial assistance designed to enhance productivity, improve soil and water health, and restore wetlands and wildlife habitat.
